Governor Dan McKee has nominated Mindy Penney, the CEO of Lindon Group, to serve as a member of the I-195 Redevelopment District Commission.

Penney, a 1988 graduate of Providence College, has more than 30 years of experience in manufacturing and 15 years in construction. She founded and served as president and CEO of Lindon Product/Lindon Development Group before it merged with Lindon Group in 2003. In a statement, McKee said: “Mindy is a proven innovator and entrepreneur. Her insight and expertise will be invaluable in helping us develop economic opportunities for Rhode Island. I look forward to working with Mindy and the rest of the Commission to boost economic activity, support job growth and set our state up for long-term success.”

Penney added: “I have lived in Rhode Island my entire life and I know that the work of the I-195 Development District Commission is critical to the future of our state. I believe that my industry experience will be an asset to the mission of the commission, and I’m excited for the opportunity to serve Rhode Island in this capacity. I thank Governor McKee for entrusting me with this role.”

Her nomination will need to be approved by the Rhode Island Senate.
