The Heifetz International Music Institute will return to Rhode Island for a week-long series of performances and collaborations in schools and evening performances at venues around the state.

The residency, made possible by an invitation from the Jamestown Arts Center and Heifetz International Music Institute, will allow the musicians to share their skills and experience with local music and performing arts programs. This will take place in schools across Rhode Island, including Thompson Middle School in Newport, Rockwell School in Bristol, J.M. Walsh High School for the Performing Arts in Pawtucket, Lawn and Melrose Schools in Jamestown, and elsewhere.

The public is invited to attend an open rehearsal on Saturday, May 11, from 11 am to 1 pm. This free event will allow the public to experience an informal performance by the musicians, who will prepare for an evening concert later in the day. Tickets for the concert, which will feature a string quartet accompanied by piano, are available for purchase.

The Heifetz on Tour program, which supports young classical musicians from across the state, is made possible through a series of educational outreach programs and performances at schools and evening venues. This residency is the latest in a series of opportunities that will allow the Heifetz musicians to reach new audiences and demonstrate their skills as highly skilled musicians.
