The Rhode Island Foundation is currently accepting applications for its Equity Action Fund, which supports projects that serve the LGBTQ+ communities in Rhode Island.

The Equity Action Fund is currently accepting applications from eligible organizations for grants up to $10,0000. The Foundation will award grants to eligible projects that help improve the lives of LGBTQ+ Rhode Islanders.

“These grants are open to organizations that focus on Rhode Island’s LGBTQ communities, as well as nonprofits that are launching or expanding their work on behalf of LGBTQ Rhode Islanders,” said David N. Cicilline, the Foundation’s president and CEO.

One of the categories of projects that are eligible to apply for funding is “projects that meet the priority needs of the LGBTQ communities.” This includes projects that provide health care, support youth and civil rights advocacy, provide youth programs, and protect LGBTQ victims of intimate partner violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.

The other category of eligible projects is “capacity-building programs such as board development, strategic planning and fundraising for organizations that play a vital and unique role in the LGBTQ communities.”

The Rhode Island Foundation website provides information about the application process and eligibility requirements for organizations interested in funding.

The deadline to apply is April 11, 2024.
