A body that was pulled out of the Providence River on Kettle Avenue near the East Bay Bike Path on Thursday, March 21, has been identified.

The victim, Marcus Harris, was a 44-year-old man from Newport, Rhode Island. Harris’s body was located by a pedestrian around 7:15 pm on Thursday, March 21, according to East Providence Police Department.

The cause of death was determined as drowning but will be confirmed at a later date by the medical examiner, according to police.

Police say foul play is not suspected.
