Daylight Saving Time ends at 2 am on Sunday, November 5, 2023 – meaning you get an extra hour of sleep this weekend!

Look for lighter mornings, but for it to get darker much earlier in the evening;  

  • On Saturday, November 4, the sun will rise in Newport at 7:20 am and will set in Newport at 5:37 pm. There will be 10 hours and 16 minutes of sun.
  • On Sunday November 5, the sun will rise in Newport at 6:21 am and set in Newpport at 4:35 pm. There will be 10 hours and 14 minutes of sun

Before you go to bed on Saturday night, remember to change your clocks and also take this opportunity to check and/or change the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
