Social Enterprise Greenhouse will host an Open House at its Newport location at Innovate Newport (513 Broadway, Newport, RI 02840) on Thursday, June 27, 2019, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
The event features a program of guest speakers and will highlight the business development services Social Enterprise Greenhouse provides to entrepreneurs whose mission is to positively impact their communities. All are welcome.
Social Enterprise Greenhouse is growing its services in the Newport area as part of a grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development Agency. The goal of the initiative is to provide more businesses and entrepreneurs, particularly those in designated Opportunity Zones, with access to the resources of Rhode Island’s entrepreneurship ecosystem.
The event also introduces Juan Carlos Payero as Newport Program Director for Social Enterprise Greenhouse. Payero’s main responsibility is to develop and implement programming for social entrepreneurs in Newport and the surrounding communities. He brings significant experience building and expanding programs at various nonprofits, primarily in the social service and educational fields. Payero holds a B.A. in Government and Politics from St. John’s University and a Master of Public Administration degree from Baruch College, City University of New York (CUNY). He also serves on the Portsmouth School Committee.
“We are thrilled to welcome Juan Carlos as our Newport program director,” said Kelly Ramirez, CEO of Social Enterprise Greenhouse. “His extensive experience in program development and deep understanding of community strengths and assets will help us expand the potential for social entrepreneurship in Rhode Island and lay the groundwork for a more just and resilient economy.”
