Newport Fire Department responded to Del Nero Cleaners just after 5 p.m. for a fire alarm/reported fire.

A witness next door at Mission reported to us over the phone that the fire alarm began going off in the restaurant and everyone was asked to exit the building. The witness also confirmed with us that there was a smell like there was something “burning plastic” burning coming from Del Nero Cleaners.

Newport Fire Department and responding units made quick work of the incident and were seen quickly ventilating the second floor of the downtown property.
