About the Program: Join us at the Norman Bird Sanctuary to learn about the many types of mushrooms in our region. While some are poisonous, others are simply delicious, and all are fascinating to learn about. Join Ryan Bouchard and Emily Schmidt, New England’s leading mushroom hunting teachers for a slideshow featuring local photography. Bouchard and Schmidt will explain the basics of wild mushroom science and safety, and the local in-season species that are considered ideal for beginners to cook…

For over 45 years, the Norman Bird Sanctuary has brought visitors from far and wide together for a celebration of the harvest season through its annual Harvest Fair. This award-winning event is a fall favorite on Aquidneck Island. Challenge friends to a sack race, compete in the Home & Garden Competition, peruse the Crafter's Tent, enjoy live music, and so much more during this weekend of festivities for the whole family! Ticket pre-sale will be available in early September.
