Salve Regina University Reunion Weekend 2022

It’s been too long since we’ve been able to welcome you to campus for a reunion celebration, so these events are sure to be worth the trip back to Newport. Return to campus and reconnect with your classmates. All alumni are welcome to attend, no matter of class year!
*Please note when registering, the $15 registration fee per person is REQUIRED.

Bookstore Open
8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. | Garden Level, Miley Hall

Check-In Open
1 – 7 p.m. | Ochre Court, Library
Come to Ochre Court and check in for all the exciting weekend events! 
Newport Bus Tour & Taizé Prayer
2 – 4 p.m. | Meet at Ochre Court
Members of the Class of 1972 and their guests are invited to experience Newport’s roots by joining a Gilded-Age tour via bus, followed by a Taizé prayer service with roses at the chapel. These short services allow time for quiet reflection and meditation offered by candlelight in the spirit of the Taizé community.
50th Reunion Reception
6 – 8 p.m.| Young Building, home of the Pell Center
50th Reunion attendees can start their weekend off right by joining their fellow members of the Class of 1972 and their guests for drinks and heavy appetizers in Young, Salve Regina’s Queen Anne-styled mansion.
Welcome Reception
6 – 8 p.m.| Ochre Court, Great Hall
Kick off the weekend by checking in at Ochre Court and enjoying light appetizers and a complimentary beverage sponsored by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions!
Salve Night Downtown
9 p.m. – 1 a.m.| The Landing; 30 Bowens Wharf, Newport, RI 02840
Continue the evening downtown! Make your way to Bowen’s Wharf on the Salve Regina shuttle for this Reunion Weekend tradition. Cash bar. No cover.

50th Reunion Continental Breakfast
8 – 10:30 a.m. | Miley Hall, Cafe
Enjoy a continental breakfast at Miley. When you arrive at the Cafe, let the person at the desk that you’re with Reunion Weekend and they will have you sign in with no charge.

Remembrance and Reflection
10 a.m. – 4 p.m. | Our Lady of Mercy Chapel
The alumni book of remembrance will be located in the prayer room of the chapel to remember the classmates we have lost.
State of the University
10 – 11 a.m. | O’Hare Academic Building
Hear from University leaders about the state of student life and where Salve Regina is headed. Whether you’ve recently graduated or you’re returning after a hiatus, campus has updates! This will also be made available virtually for community members who cannot attend in-person.
Morning Sail on Schooner Adirondack II
10 – 11:30 a.m. | Downtown Newport
Start your day with a brisk, invigorating sail aboard Adirondack II. The perfect way to see the sights of Narragansett Bay and experience Newport like you never have on a sailboat with your classmates. A cash bar will be available. Please meet at Bowen’s Wharf.
*Please note, transportation to Bowen’s Wharf is not included.
Campus Tours
11 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. | Ochre Court
Enjoy a walking tour of campus given by a student ambassador!
50th Anniversary Society Mass
11:30 a.m. | Ochre Court, Chapel
The Classes of 1951 – 1972 and their guests are invited to celebrate Mass in the original University Chapel located inside Ochre Court. Transport yourself back in time with sounds and sights from when Salve Regina hosted your masses and weddings.
50th Anniversary Society Luncheon
12 – 2 p.m.| Ochre Court, State Dining Room
The Classes of 1951 – 1972 and their guests are welcome to a seated lunch following Mass to catch up with classmates and share fond memories.
Salve by Sky Helicopter Tour
12 – 3 p.m. | Newport Airport
See Salve by sky! This spectacular sky view tour of campus is being offered at a discounted rate exclusively for Reunion Weekend. Limited number of spaces available.

First Steps Session
1 – 1:45 p.m. | McAuley Hall
Learn how you can help the next generation of your family through the college application process from the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Includes discussion of how to qualify for the Legacy Scholarship.
25th Reunion Reception
1 – 3 p.m.| Founders Hall
The Class of 1997 and their guests are welcome to attend a casual reception with bites and refreshments!
Mercy Center Open House
2 – 3 p.m. | Our Lady of Mercy Chapel
Drop by during this hour to catch up with University Chaplain Fr. Scott over a cup of tea! He will be available to show you around the chapel and discuss spiritual diversity on campus.
Alumni Involvement Session
2:15 – 3 p.m. | McAuley Hall
Learn more about volunteering opportunities on campus, virtually and locally to connect with future Seahawks – hosted by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
50th Reunion Lobster Bake
6 – 8 p.m. | Ochre Court, State Dining Room
Members of the Class of 1972 and guests are welcome for an authentic Rhode Island experience with a traditional old-fashioned clambake prepared over hot rocks and cooked with seaweed (chicken also available). Following dinner, the Class of 1972 will be inducted into the 50th Anniversary Society. Open beer/wine bar available.
Lobster Bake Dinner
6 – 8 p.m.| Ochre Court

Dancing

Reunion Brunch
10 a.m. | Ochre Court
Join us in Ochre Court for a buffet brunch as we honor this year’s Alumni Achievement Award recipients at one of the weekend’s most memorable events. Bloody Mary and Mimosa cash bar available.
On-Campus Housing
Feel like you’re back in college by staying on-campus in one of our dorms! At an affordable $50 per guest per night, our alumni are able to spend the entire weekend in Newport.
*Roommates cannot be assigned until all parties have confirmed payment. Please provide requested roommate names and class year in the comments box when registering. We will do our best to accommodate all requests, but cannot guarantee roommates and locations due to the limited availability of dorm rooms.
Pre-registration is REQUIRED for Reunion Weekend. Walk-ins will not be allowed and limited spots are available.
Every registration will include a $15 gift to Salve Regina’s Legacy Family Scholarship, which benefits the freshmen students of alumni who attended Salve. Additional gifts made through this registration or directly to www.salve.edu/give-reunion will be recognized in the Reunion Celebration Garden at Ochre Court during Reunion Weekend in June.
