A waterfront estate in Portsmouth has sold for $6,600,000, marking the second highest sale on record in the town and the highest since 2023, according to data from the Multiple Listing Service.

The property at 272 Carnegie Harbor Drive, located within the gates of the Aquidneck Club, was announced Friday by Mott & Chace Sotheby’s International Realty. Alexandra Thursby, a sales associate with the firm, represented the sellers. Jim DeRentis of Residential Properties represented the buyer.

The roughly 10,000-square-foot estate features five bedrooms, ten bathrooms, dramatic two-story floor-to-ceiling windows with west-facing water views, an open-concept design, and a chef’s kitchen. The primary suite includes a waterfront balcony, spa-inspired bath, and walk-in closets, while all guest bedrooms feature en-suite baths. The property also includes an infinity pool, multiple terraces, lush gardens, and access to the Aquidneck Club’s golf, marina, equestrian, and tennis amenities.

“This sale highlights the resilience and continued strength of the Portsmouth and greater Aquidneck Island market,” Thursby said. “The Aquidneck Club continues to drive strong demand in this highly sought-after community. It was truly an honor to assist my clients in finding the ideal buyer for their cherished home.”
