On average, one person dies by suicide every three days in Rhode Island.

Frank Prosnitz and I dedicated 90 minutes of our shows (The Open Forum and What’sUpNewp Radio Edition) on AM 1540 WADK Newport today to have a serious and much-needed conversation about suicide.

From 12 pm to 1:30 pm today, representatives from Newport Mental Health, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, The Samaritans of Rhode Island and National Council for Behavioral Health joined Frank and I to chat about the stigma around suicide, prevention, awareness, and resources available.
