1 – Newport Fall Secret Garden Tour | September 8 – 10

Enjoy self-guided walking tours of private gardens located in historic Newport, Rhode Island. Each tour features about a dozen beautiful gardens. The tours run daily from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM and tickets are good for any or all days of the tour, allowing for inclement weather, schedule conflicts, or just a late start. 2 – Newport Polo Series – Newport Vs. Baltimore | September 9

The Newport International Polo Series XXVI will feature Newport vs. Baltimore facing a top regional rival on Saturday, Sept. 9th, 2017 at 4PM. Dating back more than 130 years in Newport, the polo matches are one of Newport’s grandest & most popular traditions, a living legacy from the Gilded Age, and open to the public.  Audiences of several thousand spectators enjoy the contests against international teams, as well as teams representing major US cities, playing against the home team every Saturday, June – Sepember. at 5:00 PM / 4:00 PM in September. 3 – Second Saturday at Newport Art Museum | September 9

The Whale Guitar is traveling to the Newport Art Museum for Second Saturday! Bring all those artful, creative kids, musicians, artists, and whale lovers, too! The Whale Guitar was created by musician and activist Jen Long, to raise awareness of the plight of whales, and raise funds to protect them and their ocean home. More Info

4 – City of Arboreta Celebration | September 14

5 – 47th Annual Newport International Boat Show | September 14 – 17

The Newport International Boat Show encompasses 13 acres of historic Newport Harbor allowing you to enjoy everything the City-by-the-Sea has to offer while experiencing a full range of powerboats and sailboats from both domestic and international companies – many making their official debut in Newport! Visitors will also find an extensive array of marine equipment, services and accessories to round out the boat show experience.

6 – Newport Wooden Boat Show | September 14 – 17

Boats of all kinds and from all over will be available for visits at Bowen’s Ferry Landing Marina. Builders and owners will join to explore the resurgence of wood-boat craftsmanship, with art exhibits and more on site. 7 – Special Pre-Opening Paranormal Investigation of Clark Street Armory | September 15

10 – AmpSurf | September 16

AmpSurf New England will hold an adaptive surfing clinic at Second Beach in Middletown, RI on September 16th, 2017.  The event involves adaptive surf therapy with certified adaptive surf instructors and is free for anyone with any kind of disability.  The event is from 7 am to 1:30 pm. More Info

11 – 2017 The Walk to End Alzheimer’s at Fort Adams State Park | September 17

12 – Island Moving Company presents Open for Dancing 2017 | September 20 – 24

Island Moving Company’s most joyous festival is coming up September20-24.  Come explore the possibility of participating in the creation and performance of a unique site specific work with a renowned choreographer and collaborating artist.  We’ll be lifting a glass and answering questions at Salvation Cafe on Wednesday, September 6thstarting at 5pm.  Open for Dancing offers classes, opportunities to interact with the artists, exciting evening events and of course the thrill of being part of a company of dancers creating new work in iconic Newport landscapes.

13 – Gills & Grapes Dinner with Eating with the Ecosystem | September 21

Holy Mackerel! Newport Vineyards is joining forces with Eating with the Ecosystem to uncover the wonders below our local seas. An evening of education and eating local with a 5-course dinner paired with Newport Vineyards wines. Lead by our Executive Chef Andy Teixeira, along with Newport lobsterman Al Eagles.
