What’sUpNewp Radio – June 14th: Pamela McLaughlin, Project SEARCH

Newport Hospital recently celebrated the graduation of Project SEARCH interns at a ceremony held last week at Newport Hospital.

The Project Search program prepares special needs students for the workplace, helping them acquire career and life skills through hands-on internships. Their interns completed three 10-week rotations throughout the hospital, working alongside Newport Hospital employees in facilities, environmental services, food services, the mail room and more. All seven interns have already found employment in the community!

Pamela McLaughlin, director of hospital patient experience and coordinator of the program, joined Tim Towey and I on What’sUpNewp Radio Show on AM 1540 WADK Newport today from 1 pm to 2 pm to chat about the program and tell us about how others might benefit from the program.
