Although the name is (close to) the same, everything from the ownership, management, staff, chef and look is new at Mudville Cafe.
I stopped by the grand opening of Mudville Cafe on Monday evening and caught up with co-owners James Black and Bobby Dyer. Although the restaurant has opened for a few random days over the last two months, the duo was excited to finally host their grand opening and to be open full time and to welcome locals and tourists alike.
Some of the biggest changes those will see at Mudville Cafe is
Unlike Mudville Pub, Mudville Cafe is beer and wine only. The full liquor license for the restaurant was swapped with Antonio’s Pizza (formerly Mama Leone’s) at the rotary for their beer and wine license prior to the sale of the property to Black and Dyer.
Mudville Cafe is open at 7 am daily, serving breakfast, coffee, smoothies, milkshakes and more.
Despite the rumors of tapas, a wine bar or whatever else the public may have heard; Mudville Cafe has stuck with a lot of the favorites of Mudville Pub and a lot of what people want to enjoy while watching the Newport Gulls or their favorite team at the bar.
