PVD Fest Downtown All Weekend
The PVD Fest takes over the streets of Providence starting today and running all weekend with an eclectic mix of arts and music. And food trucks, restaurants, beer tents and more! Don’t miss this amazing festival with over 800 artists on 15 stages including local favorites the Extraordinary Rendition Band, Cachi Carvalho, Las Cafeteras and Saturday headliner Bettye LeVette. Blind Revision at Jimmy’s Saloon Friday
Newport’s own indie-rockers Blind Revision host a CD release show at Jimmy’s Saloon on Friday June 2. The band is touring the northeast in celebration of their second studio EP, “Of White and Grey.” It’s a full night of rock at Jimmy’s with Carpathia, Sic Vita, and The Morgana Phase opening. Laurence Juder at Pump House Friday
Laurence Juber is an acclaimed finger-style guitarist who’s perhaps best known for his 1978 stint with Wings, when he was Paul McCartney’s lead guitarist. More recently, he’s won two Grammys including an award for “Pink Guitar,” a compilation of Henry Mancini songs. You can check out his guitar wizardly at the Pump House in Peacedale Friday June 2. FolkFest at Dusk Saturday
Head to Dusk in Providence Saturday night June 3 for a mini FolkFest with Muddy Ruckus, Michael Graham, Man & Wife, Jeff Bryd, Jon Coltrain, Josh Grabert, David Begin, Seatbelt, and more! It starts early and ends late with a free cookout for early arrivers (6-8pm). Bring your own instrument for some promised “front porch” style jams. Music starts at 6PM – Details here.
Warpaint at Fete Monday
Warpaint is an alternative dream pop band formed in 2004 in Los Angeles. They gained national attention when Red Hot Chilli Peppers guitarist John Frusciante heard them and helped launch their career in 2004. You can see them Monday June 5 at Fete in Providence. Details here.
The Chainsmokers at the Dunk Wednesday
The Chainsmokers arrive at the Dunkin Donuts Center next Wednesday June 7. The EDM duo of Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall, who won a Grammy for their 2016 hit “Don’t Bring Me Down,” will be rocking the house in support of their new album Memories … Do Not Open.
