RI Seafood’s 3rd Annual Quahog Week returns March 26th – April 1st

Celebrate Rhode Island’s favorite clam with special events and delicious menu selections at a restaurant near you during the 3rd Annual Quahog Week from March 26th – April 1st!

Quahog Week is meant to highlight the importance of Rhode Island’s wild harvest shellfish to the state’s history, traditions, and economy. Quahogging has a rich history in the Ocean State, employing hundreds of commercial fishers and serving as a treasured pastime for families. More than 22 million quahogs were harvested in Narragansett Bay in 2016 – with demand swelling in the summer months due, in large part, to the popularity of clam cakes and stuffies. But these delicious local clams also make the perfect fare for winter chowders and other dishes.

As part of the week, participating restaurants and markets will feature quahog-inspired menu items and deals, and Quahog Week partners will hold special events.

  • The list of participants is still to be announced. Restaurant-goers and foodies looking forward to a week of delicious dishes, stay tuned for the full list of participating businesses and follow RI Seafood on Facebook.
  • Restaurants that wish to sign up and participate in the Quahog Restaurant Week, can register here.

Forty 1 North, One Bellevue at Hotel Viking and Fluke Wine, Bar & Kitchen were among the fifteen restaurants across Rhode Island that participated in the 2nd Annual Rhode Island Quahog Week in 2017.

Quahog Week is a product of The Rhode Island Seafood Marketing Collaborative. The Rhode Island Seafood Marketing Collaborative, chaired by the RI Department of Environmental Management, was established by the Rhode Island General Assembly in 2011. The objective of the Collaborative is to support local fishermen and small businesses and to increase awareness and consumption by the public of locally fished species.
