Newport, RI – Dates are set for the Newport Charter Yacht Show and registration is now open online: www.newportchartershow.com. The charter show, which features luxury sailing and motor vessels available for charter in New England, is open to yacht brokers, agents and industry professionals. The show will be held at Newport Shipyard in Newport, Rhode Island June 18-21, 2018 and will once again be presented by Helly Hansen.

“The 2017 Charter Show was a huge success with 25 yachts participating in the show and over 80 charter brokers attending from around the US,” said Eli Dana, Newport Shipyard’s general manager. “One of the highlights of the show was the final party and awards where nearly every yacht crew attended to cheer each other on and graciously accept their crew competition awards,” Dana continued. “It was a really fun night and we hope to make next year’s party just as fun and engaging for the captains, crew, sponsors, brokers and industry professionals in attendance.”

The 2017 charter show showcased 18 luxury power and 7 sailing yachts ranging in size from 53 to 198-feet. With over 40 brokerage houses represented, the 2017 show featured three evening parties including a captain & crew briefing; yacht hop; and final party and awards. Six crew competitions were held over the course of the show and the American Yacht Charter Association (AYCA) held its annual Signature Seminar Series with more than 60 charter brokers in attendance.

“The Newport Charter Show is unique because it’s a smaller show and you don’t feel rushed when touring new boats and meeting captains and crew members for the first time,” said Carol Kent, owner of Carol Kent Yacht Charters International based in Marblehead, MA. “This show is the only one of its kind in the US and a great opportunity for charter brokers and other industry professionals to meet, tour boats available for charter locally, and socialize. We’re happy the Newport Charter Show continues to grow and attract boats from all over the US and the Caribbean to Newport,” Kent said.

“The yacht hop at last year’s Charter Show was a great scene with nearly every yacht participating and 300+ brokers and guests socializing on the docks and on the yachts throughout the evening,” said Herman Pundt of Hargrave Yacht Brokerage & Charter. “This gives the brokers an opportunity to really see the yacht crews in action while they are throwing parties, welcoming guests onboard, and serving creative cocktails and hors d’oeuvres guests might eat while onboard for a charter,” Pundt continued. “I love making the trip to Newport and we are already looking forward to next year’s show,” he concluded.
