Norman Bird Sanctuary welcomes the community to continue the beloved springtime tradition at the 35th Annual Birds & Breakfast on Sunday, May 21st.
Featuring a gourmet spread prepared by The White Horse Tavern’s Executive Chef Rich Silvia, this is not your traditional May breakfast. Guests indulge on a carved steamship round of pork, salmon scrambled eggs, assorted quiches, yogurt parfaits and more while enjoying live music by local musician Greg Ferreira.
Just a step outside the breakfast tent, guests can enjoy picturesque views over Norman Bird Sanctuary’s rolling fields to Rhode Island Sound. Nature lovers and bird-watchers can embark on short nature walks lead by NBS naturalists on the hiking trails in search of fresh signs of spring like blooming flowers and migrant birds.
Back at the tent, children can show their artistic side by making spring-themed nature crafts to keep or give out as gifts. Kids and animal lovers of all ages will even have the opportunity to meet some of Norman Bird Sanctuary’s Animal Ambassadors up-close like their resident barred owl, red-tailed hawk, rabbit, or hognose snake.
The proceeds from this event directly support Norman Bird Sanctuary’s mission to preserve and protect wildlife habitats for the benefit of the environment and for the enjoyment of the community and to provide environmental education programs to a diverse audience of learners of all ages.
Bird walks begin every half hour starting at 7:30 am. Breakfast seating times at 8:00 am, 9:00 am, and 10:00 am. Admission: $30 Advance, $35 Day-of, $10 Children ages 3-12. Tickets are available online at: www.NormanBirdSanctuary.org/annual-events/birds-breakfast/
