Newport Polo is Now Hiring for Full Time and Part Time Seasonal Positions

Newport Polo, host of the Newport International Polo Series and home of America’s first polo club, is now hiring for full time and part time seasonal positions for their 2016 season.

The Newport International Polo Series features teams from around the world & from major US cities playing against USA / Newport from June through September at the Newport International Polo Grounds & Pavilion at Glen Farm in Portsmouth, RI.

Full-Time Seasonal Position

Brand Ambassador
Newport Polo is seeking candidates interested in hands-on experience in Sports Marketing & Event Management, including PR, marketing & promotions, sales and operations.

  • Qualifications
    • Experience in social media marketing, public relations, and/or event management
    • Well organized, with strong interpersonal skills, professional outgoing customer relations
    • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills
  • Reports To:
    • Newport Polo’s General Manager
  • Compensation:
    • Weekly salary based on experience
  • Hours & Availability:
    • Full-time, Tuesday – Saturday, May through August/September

Part-Time Seasonal Positions

Pavilion Manager
Newport Polo is seeking venue management candidates for hands-on experience at exciting, seasonal weekend events.

  • Responsibilities:
    • Supervise Pavilion crew & hostess staff in setup/breakdown
    • Customer service for public and private events
  • Qualifications:
    • Strong organizational, leadership & management skills
    • Professional disposition, with excellent attention to detail
    • Customer service oriented
  • Reports To:
    • Newport Polo’s Marketing & Sales Manager
  • Compensation:
    • Hourly based on experience
  • Hours & Availability:
    • Typical hours are Saturday, 1:00pm – 9:00pm (additional hours may be available). Candidates must be available June – September.

Pro Shop Manager
Newport Polo is seeking candidates for weekend manage of its Pro Shop retail boutique and signature sportswear & souvenir collection.

  • Responsibilities:
    • Supervise 3-4 person sales staff
    • Register sales and customer assistance
    • Manage inventory, oversee restocking, and initiate reordering
  • Qualifications:
    • Experience in retail sales and merchandising
    • Customer service oriented, with professional disposition and punctual
  • Reports To:
    Newport Polo’s General Manager
  • Compensation:
    • Hourly based on experience
  • Hours & Availability:
    • Typical hours are Friday, 2:00pm – 6:00pm, and Saturday, 1:00pm – 9:00pm. Candidates must be available June – September.

Retail Sales Associate
Newport Polo is seeking candidates with retail sales & merchandising experience for part-time, weekend employment in the Pro Shop boutique – a fun, live event atmosphere, retail shop for Newport Polo’s signature collection.

  • Responsibilities:
    • Customer assistance, sales, and restocking
  • Qualifications:
    • Retail sales experience
    • Outgoing, friendly, helpful, and professional disposition
    • Committed and punctual
  • Reports To:
    • Newport Polo’s Pro Shop Manager
  • Compensation:
    • Hourly based on experience
  • Hours & Availability:
    • Typical hours are Friday, 2:00pm – 6:00pm and Saturday, 1:00pm – 9:00pm. Candidates must be available June – August/September.
