The Newport Gulls announced today that they are actively seeking local families to join their Host Family Program for the 2018 Season.

The Newport Gulls Host Family Program is the foundation on which the Newport Gulls family is built. Host families have opened their homes to Newport Gulls players who hail from all over the country for the summer in hopes of chasing their dreams of becoming Major League Baseball players.

“Our host family program is the lifeblood of the Newport Gulls organization,” said Newport Gulls General Manager Chuck Paiva in a news release. “It all starts with our host families, and without them, it would not be possible to operate the team. Year to year, we will lose host families for various reasons, and we get new families interested in the program, as well.”

In addition to the rewards of forming a life-long relationship with a player, the Newport Gulls thank their host families with a very special Host Family Package, including tickets, merchandise, summer camp registration, invitations to Newport Gulls events, and much more!

“The foundational influence and support of our host families is a key reason for the Gulls being considered the premier summer collegiate baseball team in the country. My own family has been a Gulls host family for the last 17 years,” Paiva said. “My kids have grown up with the Gulls as part of their lives each summer. The positive experience and impact hosting these outstanding young gentlemen have had on my own family is immeasurable.”
