The St. Columba Concert Series will present its final concert of this season on April 30, at 4:00 PM in the church parish hall at 55 Vaucluse Avenue, Middletown RI.
Concert pianist Clemens Teufel will present works of Schumann, Heller, Liszt, Hanson, and Gershwin. Mr. Teufel has appeared in concerts throughout Europe, Asia, and the United States. He has performed at such prestigious venues as the Beijing Conservatory (China), the Alte Oper (Frankfurt, Germany), the Shalin Liu Performance Center (Rockport MA), and the Cite des Arts (Paris). He has also performed in several music festivals, including the International Burgos Music Festival (Spain), the Easter Festival (Bayreuth, Germany), and most recently at the Newport Music Festival.
Born in Frankfurt, Germany, Clemens Teufel received his first piano lessons at the age of seven. First-prize winner of various national youth competitions, he completed his musical education at the University Franz Liszt. He graduated with honors in the master class of Professor Lev Natochenny from the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts.
In 2017 he is publishing his first solo album “American Masters” with music of Howard Hanson and George Gershwin. He currently resides in Boston MA with his wife Erin.
