If you’re on Instagram or happen to drive by Easton’s Beach often early, you’ve likely seen the large fitness community, known as November Project Newport, in one way or another doing their thing in The-City-By-The-Sea.

Erin Briskie, Co-Leader of November Project Newport, helped us understand what November Project Newport is and how our readers can get involved.

What Is November Project Newport?

Simply put, November Project is a free workout group. Our goal is to build community through positivity, high energy, high fives, and good vibes. Each workout circuit consists of body weight exercises and minimal running. All the movements can be scaled to different levels of fitness and walking is encouraged if you are injured or building endurance. Bring your dog, bring your kids, bring your parents, bring a friend. No excuses. Just Show Up!

How Much Does It Cost To Participate?

Nothing. Zero. Nada. Always. Forever.

When Does November Project Newport Meet?

At November Project Newport, we meet once a week on Wednesday at 6:30am at 1st Beach in Newport, RI for about 45 min. There are so many amazing classes, gyms, social sport meetups, and group runs on the island, we encourage the community to get out there, try something new, and stay active all year round.

What Happens If It Rains or Snows?

November Project has a term called “Weather Proof”. Regardless of snow, rain, humidity, or strong wind, we will be outside. Weather will happen, the important part is that we are going to be there and we want you to be there with us.

Why Is It Called November Project?

November Project™ is a FREE fitness movement that was born in Boston as a way to stay in shape during cold New England months. The name “November Project” comes from the Google Doc that the founders shared to track their progress in November 2011. While sessions occur year-round, the name stuck.

Where Else Is November Project Located?

Now present in 49 cities around the world, the movement uses a simple sense of accountability to motivate and encourage people of all ages, shapes, sizes and fitness levels to get out of their beds and get moving. In Newport, we are proud to be city #49, brought into the November Project family on May 30, 2018. Traveling to one of the 49 cities? More Info: november-project.com
