Hyatt Regency Newport: After recently being sold, changes are going to happen pretty quick for the hotel on Goat Island. Sources tell us changes with name, logo, look and feel will begin to happen over the next few weeks.

Innovation: The Providence Journal reports that Newport is poised to compete with Providence for innovation dollars.

Newport Waterfront Events: It’s been two years since Peregrine Group bought the Newport Yachting Center, and Newport Waterfront Events has finally found a new home. Look for them to host 20 – 30 events over the next 3 years in East Providence.
