Portsmouth’s Home Healthsmith Wins 2016 Rhode Island and New England ‘Microenterprise of the Year’.

Home Healthsmith, a Portsmouth, RI business founded in 2012, won the US Small Business Administration 2016 RI and New England Microenterprise of the Year.  They received the award at the Rhode Island Salute to Small Business celebration held at the Alpine Country Club on May 5th.  Linda Bohmbach, Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Home Healthsmith states “We were excited to take our team to this celebration so that they could be recognized and applauded by the attendees for their contribution to Home Healthsmith winning this award.  What we do is a ‘team effort’ and we would not be where we are without them.”

Contributing to their success and growth was the December 2015 opening of The Center for Adaptive Living at High Point, a showcase of the latest concepts and products in adaptive living – all staged as they would be in a home setting.  Thus, people living with disabilities and the elderly who want to age in place can see and test the various adaptive living products to gauge if they are a good fit in helping them to live safely and independently.  In addition, architects and builders can access The Center so that they can design and build appropriately for this population.  As the only place of its kind in the area, CCRI is using The Center as a lab for their physical therapy and occupational therapy students.

As a visionary in the adaptive living movement, Home Healthsmith is an umbrella referral partner.  A growing business with upwardly mobile ideas, Home Healthsmith has become a leader in the industry providing their clients with a safe, functional home that delivers freedom, mobility and confidence.
